Resonanzraum Giannozzo Berlin – Rolf Langebartels: A Tribute to Rolf Langebartels and the Giannozzo Sound Art Gallery (Opening)
About
The opening of the exhibition “Resonanzraum Giannozzo Berlin – Rolf Langebartels” is a tribute to the artist Rolf Langebartels, who passed away in January 2024, and to the Giannozzo Sound Art Gallery, Berlin's first sound gallery, which he founded in 1978. On display are Langebartels' sound installation “Fallen”, a section dedicated to the gallery's history with previously unpublished photos, documents and objects, as well as the new sound installation “1/f Pendulums” by Seiji Morimoto, Langebartels' longtime assistant. The project spans the period from the beginnings of site-specific and context-specific art involving music and sound art in Berlin in the late 1970s to the present day. It is organized by singuhr e.v., funded by Initiative Neue Musik Berlin e.v. and supported by Meinblau e.v.
