Royal Scam: Berlin's eleven-piece Steely Dan tribute.

Royal Scam is an eleven-piece band from Berlin devoted body and soul to the music of Steely Dan, aka Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, and by tradition it plays in autumn at the Kunstfabrik Schlot jazz club. Named after Steely Dan’s 1976 album, the group brings the complex compositions with their layered harmonies, funky grooves, iconic solos and sarcastic lyrics to the stage with huge joy in playing. For the 50th anniversary of the album „Royal Scam“, its entire material is in the programme, along with songs from the Grammy-winning album „Aja“ and forays into Donald Fagen’s solo albums. After last year’s huge demand, two consecutive evenings have been scheduled this year, featuring classics like „Black Cow“, „Josie“ and „Rikki Don’t Lose That Number“.
