About
"Übergang" is a documentary about the life and work of the filmmaker Thomas Heise. It was based on Heise's own idea, who shortly before his death gave the instruction that filmmaking should carry on as before. Cinematographer Peter Badel and editor Chris Wright assemble observations made on Schönhauser Allee with unpublished texts, diary entries, photos and film sequences from his estate. The result is the picture of a precise, uncomfortable observer of German forms of state and contemporary history.
