About

2m² is a documentary by Volkan Üce about funerals that cross borders. In it, the Turkish-Belgian filmmaker follows undertaker Tayfun, who helps families transfer their deceased between Belgium and Turkey. The film shows religious traditions, bureaucratic hurdles and practical questions surrounding a person's final journey, and keeps discovering the absurd and comic along the way. With dry humour, it asks where a person's last two square metres can find their place when their life is tied to several countries.
