About
The guided tour "Wolf Biermann im Blick der Stasi" takes visitors through the exhibition "Einblick ins Geheime" about the Stasi Records Archive. Organised by the Federal Archives' Stasi Records Archive Berlin-Lichtenberg, it shows surveillance documents on the singer-songwriter Wolf Biermann, how the Stasi handled his expatriation in November 1976, and the reactions of the GDR cultural scene. Biermann, a convinced socialist, moved from Hamburg to the GDR in the early 1950s and, despite a performance ban, was increasingly intensively surveilled by the secret police. Afterwards, visitors can view the sample files collection and submit a request to inspect their files on site; participation is limited to 15 people.
