About
Arfoud Brothers & Sisters bring their Desert Jazz to The Jazz Social, a pop-up venue with mixed standing and seating and limited first-come seating. The London-based collective was founded by Abdelillah Ouahbi, whose hometown of Arfoud, an oasis town in eastern Morocco known as the "Gate of the Sahara", inspires their sound. They blend traditional North African folk, Gnawa, Desert Blues, afrobeat and highlife with London jazz, from freeform piano to moody horns and soulful vocals, a genre captured on their debut album "Desert Jazz". The event is hosted by Ivy K. of the London Jazz Meetup, and tickets are free.
