About

A stage performance of George Eliot's The Mill on the Floss, adapted for the theatre by Helen Edmundson, staged as part of Rose Bruford College's Autumn Season. Directed by Rachel Valentine Smith and performed by BA Acting and Actor Musicianship students, it follows Maggie Tulliver, a passionate young woman in rural nineteenth-century England whose longing for freedom clashes with her family and society. The play blends lyrical storytelling and ensemble performance in an exploration of love, loyalty, identity and the struggle for self-determination. It runs approximately two and a half hours including an interval at the college's Rose Theatre.
