About

Suddenly Last Summer is a one-act play by Tennessee Williams, staged at the Olivier - National Theatre. Directed by Michael Grandage, who returns to the National Theatre after more than 15 years, it stars Emma Corrin as Catharine and Harriet Walter as Violet. Wealthy widow Violet Venable will do anything to protect her late son Sebastian's reputation, even silencing her niece Catharine, whose recollection of the events of Sebastian's death the summer past is entirely different. The sharp and brutal haunting story about family, trauma, and truth will have you on the edge of your seat throughout the performance.
