About
"Ballet Shoes" is a stage adaptation of Noel Streatfeild's beloved 1936 children's book about three orphaned sisters pursuing their dreams, directed by Katy Rudd at the National Theatre. The story follows the adopted sisters Pauline, Petrova and Posy, who discover who they are and what they want to be: Pauline finds she is a talented actor, Petrova wants to fly aircraft, and Posy is passionate about dancing. Their guardian Sylvia, Nana and a group of unlikely lodgers watch as the girls fight to realise their passions in a world that wasn't built for women with ambition. Directed by Rufus Norris's National Theatre and injected with new energy by Kendall Feaver, this enchanting production is a perfect family treat, starring Anton Du Beke.
