About

Girls is a play set in Nigeria in 2014, in which teenagers Tisana, Haleema and Ruha are best friends. When they are kidnapped by militant insurgents and forced towards an uncertain future, they have only each other to turn to. As fear and religious differences begin to fracture their bond, their friendship is tested to see how far it can stretch before it breaks. The play is by Theresa Ikoko, winner of the Alfred Fagon Award and the George Devine Award, and is directed by Ewa Dina, winner of the 2026 JMK Award.
