About

An evening talk at the Wallace Collection in which director Thaddeus O'Sullivan joins Dr Lucy Davis, curator of the exhibition Winston Churchill: The Painter, to discuss Winston Churchill and his legacy on screen. Their conversation centres on O'Sullivan's 2009 film Into the Storm, with Brendan Gleeson's Emmy Award-winning portrayal of Churchill as wartime leader, politician and devoted amateur painter. The talk examines the public and private character of Britain's most famous wartime prime minister and the challenges of portraying such an iconic figure on screen. Attendance is possible at the museum, followed by drinks and after-hours exhibition access, or online via Zoom.
