About

A film screening of Storm Damage, presented by UCL Community Cinema and taking place at UCL East Cinema in London. Written by Lennie James and directed by Simon Cellan Jones, the 2000 film follows Danny, a teacher who returns to the children's care home where he grew up after witnessing violent behaviour among his students. As he reconnects with the troubled teenagers there, he confronts his own past while trying to guide young people caught between neglect, anger and urban pressures. The screening is part of a series curated by Dr Clive Nwonka for The Music is Black Festival.
