About

A relaxed, unhurried afternoon workshop for people living with dementia and their carers or companions. With artist Caroline Dorset, the group looks at well-known portraits in the galleries, including Frans Hals's Laughing Cavalier and Gainsborough's Mrs Robinson, discussing sitters, painters and what poses and clothing can reveal. Back in the Learning Studio, over tea and coffee, each participant recreates a favourite as a mono-print, rolling ink onto perspex and drawing into it, to take home. No previous experience is needed, all materials are supplied, and booking is essential.
