About

"Archaeology is Rubbish!" is a display in the King's Lounge exploring how much of the Roman Baths collection consists of things people threw away, and what such objects reveal about how people lived and what they ate. It is presented by the Roman Baths, whose new display also asks what archaeology will look like in the next 200 years, as plastic is already appearing in the archaeological record. Visitors can see the "rubbish" held in the collection and consider what archaeologists might one day learn from what they threw away today. The display can be viewed for free by entering the Pump Room through the Stall St Entrance.
