About

Out of the Sand: Ancient Egypt Rediscovered is an exhibition of antiquities, works on paper and early photography devoted to the art and material culture of ancient Egypt and its later study and documentation. It is presented by Colnaghi at its London gallery. Spanning antiquity to the modern era, the exhibition traces how Egypt's monuments, objects and history have been preserved and understood across time. The works shown range from 19th-century paintings and photographs of temples and pyramids to Egyptian sculpture, reliefs and vessels, alongside historical books such as Maxime Du Camp's Égypte, Nubie, Palestine et Syrie.
