E M Forster’s Legacy of Connection
Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre, 2nd Floor, Holborn Library, 32 to 38 Theobalds Road, London WC1X 8PA
Admission Free
About
An exhibition of unseen memorabilia, letters, photographs and memories of the novelist E M Forster, alongside paintings by Jim Buckingham. Buckingham, Bob Buckingham's nephew, was inspired by Forster to pursue painting privately, and in his 80s holds never-recorded recollections of his 'Uncle Morgan' plus never-before-seen Forster items and his own life's work of paintings, including portraits of Forster. It celebrates Forster's maxim 'only connect' and his lifelong belief in gay rights and criticism of restrictions based on race and class. Admission is free.
