A classical concert tracing a musical journey along the Silk Road, connecting the traditions of China, the Caucasus, Anatolia and Andalusia. It is curated by and features Chinese pianist Siqian Li, joined in the first set by Guzheng virtuoso and baritone Kang Yang. The programme opens with works inspired by China's landscapes, poetry and Uyghur traditions before moving west, with pieces by Fazil Say, Albéniz, Babajanian and Chu Wanghua highlighting the shared musical language of these regions. Siqian Li has been featured as a rising star in BBC Music Magazine, while Kang Yang has appeared at the Barbican Centre, the British Museum and the O2.
