Lucine Musaelian & The Khio Trio (Music from Armenia)

A concert of music from Armenia by Lucine Musaelian & The Khio Trio at World Heart Beat Embassy Gardens. Armenian vocalist Lucine Musaelian blends traditional music with contemporary sounds, accompanied by Fred Thomas and Oliver Dover on viola da gamba, kaval, clarinet, piano, percussion and vielle. The trio casts a contemporary light on ancient stories of land, diaspora and spirituality, with mountain dance music, songs of love and exile and chants dating back to the 10th century. The audience is drawn into an intimate, immersive listening experience in which tradition is continually reimagined.
