Edward Lloyd: Liszt's Harmonies poétiques et religieuses.

About
Pianist Edward Lloyd gives a lunchtime recital of Franz Liszt's visionary, mystical cycle 'Harmonies poétiques et religieuses'. The concert opens a new collaboration between Conway Hall and the Royal Northern College of Music, in which the RNCM's leading pianists present a varied programme of piano music across five recitals in the 26/27 season. The cycle draws inspiration from the poetry of Parisian Romanticism, moving from the deathly bells of Funérailles to the luminous tenderness of Bénédiction de Dieu dans la Solitude. A film discussing the works created by the performer precedes the concert.
