About

Escaping Oneself is a haunting, intimate solo performance blending feats of memory, theatre and humour, in which literature becomes a line of flight. Writer, actor and mnemonist Chloé Vivarès performs it, from an original concept by magician Yann Frisch. It tells of two friends: Alice, an actress, and Chloé, an author with hyperthymesia, the ability to memorize and recount every detail of her life, demonstrated live on stage. Blurring reality and fiction, it explores the persistence of memories and the impossibility of forgetting, celebrating the books we read.
