George Clark and Eiko Soga
Camden Art Centre
About
George Clark is Camden Art Centre's 2026 Studio Residency Artist, presenting a residency in which he works in an on-site studio. Clark is a London-based artist, curator and writer working across film, installation and performance, focusing on moving image in the expanded field and the non-aligned histories of the global south. During the residency he collaborates for the first time with his partner, the artist Eiko Soga, exploring children's prelinguistic worlds and sonic resonances, from field recordings made in an anechoic chamber during a pregnancy to an active recording and experimental studio space. Inspired by the Maarui Children Farm in Tokyo and by the philosophies of Masanobu Fukuoka, the two look to bring children into their practices and work with natural processes and garden ingredients, stepping away from the fixed certainties of film production.
