Free
About
A free evening talk at Somerset House pairing a studio artist with an author for a public conversation. Artist Jenkin van Zyl, who works in film, sculpture and performance, joins Adam Alston, a theatre scholar at Goldsmiths, University of London. They discuss the ideas and processes behind van Zyl's new film and installation Enclosure, covering how technology can advance faster than meaning, maintenance as a form of denial, and systems outliving their usefulness. The event ends with an audience Q&A.
