About
James Allsopp Group is a live jazz performance of two sets at the Vortex Jazz Club, part of the EFG London Jazz Festival. The group is led by James Allsopp on tenor saxophone and synthesizer, with Chris Batchelor on trumpet, Zands Duggan on percussion, Dave Storey on drum kit and Riaan Vosloo on bass guitar. They play music from their forthcoming album 'The Forest Speaks', produced in collaboration with Ben Lamdin (Nostalgia 77) and due on the London-based label Batov Records. The band describes it as joyous, life-affirming music, deceptively simple and deeply melodic, with a psychedelic, dub production aesthetic and a healthy dose of the other-worldly.
