About

An exhibition of sculpture by Liz Larner, the first showing of her work at a major UK institution. The American sculptor presents works from roughly the last decade, including wall-mounted ceramic slabs and assemblages of single-use plastics alongside ceramic 'asteroids' named after female mythic figures. The show traces ideas of transformation, from ancient myth and cosmology to cycles of matter, and is anchored by a new work inspired by Lilith, incorporating a bronze-cast human hand, an owl foot and a branch from a tree by her studio. Working across clay, metal, wood and plastic, Larner proposes alternatives to humanity's path through the Anthropocene.
