About

An exhibition of sculpture by the American artist Liz Larner, her first at a major UK institution, shown across a series of rooms. It brings together works mainly from the last decade, tracing ideas of transformation from ancient myth and cosmology to the cycles of matter. The show features wall-mounted ceramic slabs, assemblages of discarded single-use plastics, ceramic 'asteroids' named after female mythic figures, and a new central work inspired by Lilith that incorporates a bronze hand, an owl foot and a branch. Working across clay, metal, wood and plastic, Larner explores how we are embodied within and intervene in the material world, proposing alternatives to humanity's path through the Anthropocene.
