About
Material Memories: Reshaping the Token is a hands-on textile brooch making workshop in which participants transform fabric scraps into wearable tokens. It is designed by students on Central Saint Martins' BA in Culture, Criticism and Curation, inspired by the Foundling Museum's collection of fabric tokens, which will be explored during the session. Artist facilitator Caroline Ip, in collaboration with Assemblage Collective, guides participants in working with reclaimed, vintage and recycled fabrics, ribbons and buttons to create a personalised brooch. The workshop lasts 2 hours, requires no previous art experience and is open to anyone aged 18-30.
