About
Moses Boyd plays an in-store DJ set at the record shop Banquet Records in Kingston upon Thames, celebrating the release of his new album. Songs for Sinners, his second solo album and first in six years, is about the push and pull of belief, treating faith as something deeply personal, unstable and human. The vocal-heavy record folds together jazz, soundsystem culture, 808s, choir harmonies and Caribbean rhythm. Boyd is a MOBO Award winner, Mercury Prize-shortlisted drummer, composer and producer who has spent years expanding the possibilities of jazz.
