About

October half term at the Royal Observatory is a programme of fun and spooky family activities at the Observatory in Greenwich, running during the school holidays. It is put on by the Royal Observatory and includes live demonstrations, astronomy talks and tours such as the Ghastly Greenwich Halloween tour, a free Halloween trail, lunar events around a Mirror Moon sculpture by artist Luke Jerram, and volunteer talks on the Prime Meridian and John Harrison's timekeepers. October 2026 is the last chance to visit before the site closes on 2 November for a major refurbishment project. All activities are included with admission and are suitable for ages 7 and up.
