About
A French romantic drama in which Alain Delon plays Robert, a man nearly ruined by his drinking who latches onto a stranger-on-a-train, played by Nathalie Baye, hoping for stability, with each of them unsure who can tell reality from fantasy. Bertrand Blier directed and paired the two beloved French stars in this unconventional tale. Delon won a César for his acting, Blier for the screenplay, and Baye's captivating performance as the mysterious Donatienne was widely praised for its mesmerising versatility.
