Pan-Africanism: a history

London School of Economics and Political Science, Houghton Street, WC2A 2AE London, Covent Garden

About

A Black History Month talk titled Pan-Africanism: a history, hosted by the Department of International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. The speaker is Hakim Adi, an award-winning academic and activist and the first historian of African heritage to become a professor of history in Britain, chaired by Dr Alex Mayhew. He surveys the centuries-long struggles for the rights of Africa and its diaspora, tracing demands such as reparations back to at least the late 17th century. He also highlights the important role that people in Britain have played in this history.
