About

An evening talk titled 'What We Leave We Carry: Voices of Migration to Britain' exploring what people leave behind and carry with them when they move to Britain. Author, historian and critic Colin Grant has travelled the country gathering stories of people who came to make a new life, including a Czech-Roma lawyer, an Iranian taxi driver, a Sierra Leonean actor and a Romanian police officer, asking questions about assimilation, identity, belonging and the emotional cost of migration. He will be joined in conversation by actress, director and writer Anni Domingo and writer Isabelle Dupuy. The event takes place at Brixton Tate Library and is free to attend.
