Peggy Guggenheim in London: Dalí, Hepworth, Moore and more.
About
An art exhibition at a grand gallery near Piccadilly devoted to the American collector and patron Peggy Guggenheim. In 1938 she opened her first gallery, 'Guggenheim Jeune', on Cork Street around the corner from the Royal Academy, shaking up London's conservative art scene with Surrealism and abstraction. The show reunites key pieces from her more than 20 pioneering displays alongside similar works by artists such as Salvador Dalí, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore, Vasily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian. It is organised by the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice, in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts.
