Theatre
Redcliffe, a musical about forbidden love in old Bristol.
About
Redcliffe is a musical about forbidden love and persecution, set in 18th century Bristol. Actor and playwright Jordan Luke Gage wrote it and plays the lead, William, a man who falls in love with Richard, a sailor passing through town. Based on the tragic true story of two men executed for being gay, it follows how society's prejudices threaten to tear the two lovers apart. After a sell-out run at the Southwark Playhouse Borough, the award-winning show is transferring to the West End.
