Ronald Moody: Sculpting Life
Orleans House Gallery, Riverside, TW1 3DJ Twickenham, St Margarets
About
An exhibition bringing the work of the Jamaican-born, West London–based sculptor Ronald Moody back to the city where he lived, worked and carved for more than half a century. Touring from The Hepworth Wakefield and organised by it in collaboration with Orleans House Gallery, with artistic and curatorial collaboration from Kedisha Coakley, the show spans Moody's sculpture, poetry, writing and audio broadcasts. It traces his journey from dentistry training and self-taught carving to wooden figures of the 1930s and post-war experiments with concrete and resin, blending Modernism, spirituality and global mythologies. New commissions by Kedisha Coakley, Dexter McLean and Kat Francois respond to his ideas and legacy.
