About

A one-day silk painting workshop offering a structured introduction to painting on silk and a master class in applying colour to create stunning designs. Artist and curator Hilary Simon leads it, demonstrating effects using salt, layering, alcohol, dyes and gutta gum, with French Dupont dyes that run like vibrant watercolours. Participants design on paper, test techniques on a sample square, then create their own 15-inch silk square with one-to-one guidance. Suitable for beginners and all abilities, and everyone takes home their completed work plus test square.
