About
The History Boys is a stage play returning to the West End for the first time in two decades. Written by Alan Bennett, it is directed by its original director, Nicholas Hytner, with set design by Bob Crowley. Set at an all-boys grammar school in Sheffield in the 1980s, it follows eight schoolboys preparing for the Oxbridge examinations. Voted Britain's favourite play in 2013, it explores sexuality, adolescence, the nature of history and the value of education.
