About

A historical musical experience with live 17th-century music performed in the Long Gallery of Ham House. The Morley Consort, a 4-piece group, plays 17th-century repertoire on historical instruments as visitors explore Ham's rare cabinet collection on the last day of Cabinets Unlocked. The programme includes pieces by composers on the Royalist side of the English Civil War, as well as music from Playford's English Dancing Master paying tribute to Ham House and its Cherry Garden. The performers take breaks and there is time to chat with audience members; the free event needs no booking, but normal admission charges apply for the venue.
