Music and Poetry from the Burlingtons’ Chiswick
Chiswick House
£25 (Concession £15)
About
An evening of words and music inspired by the history and people of Chiswick House & Gardens. Violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved is joined by speaker Malene Sheppard Skærved, flautist Anna Wolstenholme and the Kreutzer Quartet in a programme moving between the 18th century and today. It includes music written for the Burlingtons by Geminiani, Rousseau's Consolations, Haydn's "Lark" Quartet, new works including a world premiere by David Hackbridge Johnson and Sadie Harrison's A House of Countless Rooms, and poetry by Pope and Malene Sheppard Skærved. The evening also features an 18th century violin made for this very space and carved by John Boson, who was responsible for much of the decoration of Chiswick House.
