Film
The Nutty Professor, Jerry Lewis's 1963 comedy, with a Q&A.
About
A screening of the comedy The Nutty Professor, a riotous spin on Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde in which a klutzy chemistry professor concocts a formula that transforms him into a swaggering crooner, only to struggle keeping his competing personalities under control. Widely regarded as Jerry Lewis's masterpiece, it is a hysterical, self-reflexive portrait of fractured identity and his fascination with duality. The screening is presented by Chris Lewis, son of Jerry Lewis and president of the American Wheelchair Mission, and includes an introduction and a Q&A. Chris Lewis will also sign copies of his book Jerry Lewis on Being a Person before the screening, with proceeds going to the Cinema Museum's fundraiser.
