The Pelvic Underground is the debut of an immersive, multidisciplinary installation inviting visitors into a strange, numinous world of transformed shoes, shifting sounds and unexpected encounters, centred on the pelvis. It is created by Suke Catastro/FILLE, an East London-based multidisciplinary artist and musician, who works with reclaimed footwear and found materials combined with light, darkness, moving image and sound. The project began with the accidental recognition of a pelvic shape in a pair of discarded women's shoes, unfolding into an evolving environment that includes a kaleidoscopic moving-image work, an original soundscape and participatory decorating of small clay pelvic forms.
