Therapeutic Productions: Breathing Life Into Real World Art
Museum of Croydon, Broad Green
About
An exhibition at the Museum of Croydon presenting the work of Therapeutic Productions, an initiative launched in 2021 that uses creativity to empower people across society. It is led by creatives, artists and social entrepreneurs who use film, music and art skills to highlight social issues. The show focuses on three of the initiative's largest projects to date: Dark Thoughts, on philosophers and intellectuals working in a western context and the 18th century abolitionist Ottobah Cugano; Prodigal Monster, raising awareness for positive mental health, rehabilitation and recovery for those incarcerated; and The Burning Breath Chapters, a book journeying through life's stages and overcoming trauma through therapy and meditation.
