About

'Tove Jansson and her Families' is a major UK exhibition of work by the Finnish author and artist who created the Moomins. It presents unseen drawings of her characters alongside over 100 rarely seen sketches, paintings, illustrations and photographs, including original illustrations for the Swedish edition of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The show spotlights the people who shaped her life and work, from her sculptor father to friends in London's and Finland's queer circles and her life partner Tuulikki Pietilä. It runs at the new Quentin Blake Centre of Illustration in Clerkenwell.
