About
A print design and history workshop where participants make their own news-inspired designs, learning about the 13-month Wapping dispute of 1986–7, when around 6,000 workers were sacked at the site and produced print in support of their cause. It is organised by Katherine Easthill, a doctoral researcher and graphic designer working on a PhD about The Wapping Post, a newspaper set up by sacked printworkers and journalists. Attendees will explore tabloid design techniques and contribute their final pieces to a collaborative publication to be distributed at a November exhibition. No previous design experience is required and all materials and tools are provided.
