Peglar papers reading workshop
National Maritime Museum, Romney Road, SE10 9NF London, East Greenwich

About
A free creative reading workshop centred on the 'Peglar wallet', a manuscript linked to the lost John Franklin expedition of 1845. Participants read the papers together on high-resolution scans and produce a collective transcription, treating them as art rather than evidence about the expedition. The workshop is led by Ema Sala, a Caird Fellow at the Royal Museums Greenwich, and is open to everyone at every level of manuscript reading. Sessions run in the Plymouth Room of the National Maritime Museum in a hybrid format, with in-person attendance encouraged.
