About
"Alessandro Pessoli: NY Window" is an exhibition of new drawings presented in a window space at 91 Walker Street. The Italian-born artist Alessandro Pessoli, who lives and works in Los Angeles, is showing 57 new works on paper here, his first exhibition at this window venue and his ninth solo show with the gallery that runs it. The drawings form a floor-to-ceiling installation wrapping the window's interior, presenting non-linear vignettes drawn from Americana, religious iconography, popular culture, politics, and everyday life. In each scene, figures and animals are caught between struggle and euphoria, together reflecting the contradictions, absurdities, and ordinary circumstances of daily life.
