Copperfield! The New Musical

Copperfield! The New Musical is a new stage musical adapted from Charles Dickens' favorite and most autobiographical novel. Written by Jeffrey Scharf and directed and choreographed by Gabriel Barre, it is performed by a company of actor-musicians led by Bobby Conte as David Copperfield. It follows David from a difficult childhood marked by a cruel stepfather, a villainous schoolmaster and a London sweatshop into an adulthood of happiness, success, tragedy and loss. Along the way he meets memorable characters such as Aunt Betsey Trotwood, the Peggotty family, Mr. Micawber, Agnes Wickfield, Steerforth, Dora Spenlow and Uriah Heep, in a story of friendship, hardship, love and betrayal that celebrates resilience and the strength of the human spirit.
