About

Designed to Be Red: Native American & Indigenous Poster Works is an exhibition at Poster House about Native graphic art, shown in the Main Gallery and taking about an hour to see. It is curated by Brian Johnson of the Monacan Indian Nation, a designer and partner at Polymode, with exhibition design by Ola Baldych. Through works spanning nearly two centuries and representing over 60 tribes and nations, it celebrates Native designers as shapers of design, not merely its subjects, in resistance to colonial narratives. It is rated PG-13 for some racist and violent imagery and language.
