Parlor Games is a two-person exhibition of paintings by Fern Apfel and sculptures by Austin Ballard at Morgan Lehman Gallery, with an opening reception on the evening the show begins. The show rests on the idea that ordinary household things, kept long enough, become vessels for memory. Apfel's hand-painted works evoke cupboards, letters, stamps, and aged paper, while Ballard's rattan and colored clay sculptures recall furniture and draped, hollow forms.
