Fred Hersch Masterclass: jazz piano with a Grammy nominee.

Fred Hersch Masterclass: Original Compositions is a special masterclass series with jazz pianist Fred Hersch, offering a rare chance to learn from him in the intimate setting of Arnie Lawrence Hall. Hersch, a member of jazz's piano pantheon, has been an influential creative force for more than three decades as an improviser, composer, educator, bandleader, collaborator, and recording artist. A seventeen-time Grammy nominee, he has been called "the most arrestingly innovative pianist in jazz over the last decade" by Vanity Fair and "a living legend" by The New Yorker. The event is presented by The New School as part of its public programs, and space is limited.
