John Baeder: America
ACA Galleries, West 20th Street 529, 10011 New York, Manhattan
About
"John Baeder: America" is an exhibition at ACA Galleries, with an opening reception on its first evening. It is the painter John Baeder's second solo show at the gallery, held in collaboration with MB Abram, and includes paintings from his personal collection along with his final series of matchbook covers completed in 2018. Baeder, an avid collector of Americana, painted roadside icons like diners and motels, first depicting the optimism of Postwar America and later its decline and decay, making his works documents of changing America and a mirror of 20th century American society.
